launching student activities at the Faculty of Biotechnology

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Reda Elwany Moghaieb, Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology, a meeting was held among the deanship, the teaching staff and a group of students. The aim of that meeting was to organize and coordinate student's activities within the college in various aspects.
 
 
The focus point of the meeting was the process of organizing activities within and outside UMS University in such a way as to serve the educational process as a whole as well as to activate efforts by students to guarantee proper interaction between them and their community.
 

Dr. Reda Elwany Moghaieb talked about students' activities and the positive role they play in forming solid integral characters and attitudes of the students not only to enable them interact with their society properly and creating motivation. Mr. Alwani also shed light on the importance of the student’s activities throughout their academic years which usually maintain their own bright impact even after graduation, as he emphasized.
 
 
Following the speech by the Dean, open discussion took place between students and the teaching staff supervisors of students' activities. The students freely expressed their thoughts and attitudes regarding the scientific, entertainment and sports activities which they wish to organize to their preference.
 
 
Moreover, Dr. Reda Elwany Moghaieb suggested launching first printed newsletter by the Faculty of Biotechnology alongside an electronic edition. Both editions, he suggested, would be edited and issued by the students themselves under the supervision of the academic staff.

At the end of the meeting, the students were distributed among specialized committees to carry out the responsibility of organizing and supervising the upcoming events. The committees were as follows:
• The Scientific Committee.
• The Sports Committee.
• The Community engagement committee.

It was also agreed to organize a launch for all nationalities at the university on the 12th of October 2016 at 14.00 PM.
