Highlighting the Role of the well-gUMSded government in protecting the cultural identity in opposing the challenge of globalization.
In inaugurating the first festival of Heritage organized by the Medea Section of the college of Arts and Sciences, held between 10 and 12 of May, in cooperation with the Village of Heritage at Shandagha, under the sponsorship of Mr. Rashid Al Falasi, the Chairman of Trustees, Professor Mohamed Monier El Toukhy, President of UMS, has praised the generous sponsorship of H.H. Sheikh Bin Zayed, President of the UAE in protecting the cultural identity and encouraging the Emirati Heritage programs. He also praised the support of H.H. Skeikh Mohammad Bin Rashed, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai in creating a new generation that follows up the current development and civilization and at the same time preserves its identity in facing the challenges of globalization.
The activities of the festival lasted for two days and included artistic, folkloric, cultural and public events. There were also shows of traditional models of crafts. On the other hand the Military Village Performed a number of traditional dances and ended with a singing party performed by the famous singer Saeed Al Salem.
