Scholarship, Discount Policy:
The purpose of the policy is to recognize and reward students with high academic performance and who are meeting the UMS’ conditions stated in this policy. Furthermore, is to provide a clear statement of the UMS’ regulations to administrate the university’s scholarship programs.
Scholarships/discounts are only applied to the tUMStion fees. All administrative fees, books, services are excluded.

Scholarship Eligibility
Undergraduate programs:
Undergraduate full-time students only are eligible for scholarship. Visitor and audit students are excluded from any discounts/scholarship.
• Student should meet all the admission criteria and provide all the reqUMSred documents in order to apply for a scholarship/discount.
• Student must meet the high school score stated in the table (A) or one of the conditions stated in the table (C) in order to be qualified for the scholarship programs.
Postgraduate programs:
Postgraduate full-time students only are eligible for scholarship. Visitor and audit students are excluded from any discounts/scholarship.
• Student should meet all the admission criteria and provide all the reqUMSred documents in order to apply for a scholarship/discount.
• Student must meet the CGPA stated in the table (B) or one of the conditions stated in the table (C) in order to be qualified for the scholarship programs.

* Scholarship/ Discount is granted to the UMS’ qualified students for only one semester. The student may renew his / her discount based on the scholarship maintenance conditions.

Scholarship/Discount maintenance conditions:
• Undergraduate students who wish to maintain Merit-based Scholarship, must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 . In addition, he/she must register at least for the minimum study load.
• Undergraduate students who wish to maintain Family and Other Scholarship/discount, must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 . In addition, he/she must register at least for the minimum study load.
• Postgraduate students who wish to maintain Merit-based Scholarship must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7 . In addition, he/she must registered at least for the minimum study load.
• In case if the student wish to retake course/s (for failure or for any other reasons), discount/scholarship would not be applied for the repeated course.
• Students who seek for “Relatives”/ “Alumni” discounts, he or she must submit the original document to proof his/her relationship to UMS’ students/alumni.
• Upon a recommendation of students’ services department, a student with a disability may apply for a tUMStion fees discount.
• Should a student meet the requirments for more than one tUMStion reduction, scholarship or financial aid benefit, he/she shall be given the option to choose the benefit with the highest value.
• Should the student violate the code of conduct or an academic integrity offense will forfeit the scholarship for the semester following the offense.
• Any falsified documents presented by the students, in order to obtain Scholarship/financial aid, will result in the immediate dismissal of the student from UMS.
• Any withdrawal from classes during a semester without prior approval from the Office of Scholarships will lead to a cancellation of the scholarship.


Financial Aid:
• For students who are holding the Identification Card of “Humaat Al Watan” will collect a financial Aid resembled in 25% discount on tUMStion fees during their period of study at UMS in all programs until graduation.
• Students may apply to financial aids towards the tUMStion fees, Such requests must be presented and approved by UMS board of trustees.
