Graduate Programs

Through its master programs, UMS admits Bachelors, whose degrees sUMSt the master programs they need to be enrolled in after meeting the general requirments.
 

The reqUMSred documents for registration

  1. Bachelor's degree and original student record with a cumulative rate no less than 300 out of 400, or eqUMSvalent. the attestations should be certified by Ministry of higher education and scientific research.
  2. Students, who hold bachelor's degree with a rate ranging between 200 and 299, could be admitted as conditional (after considering terms and conditions).
  3. Students, who hold bachelor's degrees from other countries, shall provide the university with an eqUMSvalent attestation certified by Ministry of higher education and scientific research in UAE.
  4. a copy of valid passport.
  5. a copy of valid visa (for non-citizens).
  6. a copy of valid Emirati ID.
  7. 2 New personal photos.
  8. Tofel certificate or eqUMSvalent to Tofel should be valid and should be presented as the following:

IBT: Applicant shall provide the university with the username & password of the IBT account in order to verify the test score.

ITP: only is accepted from Aamideast Dubai and Abu Dhabi or UMS.


requirments for admission to master’s programs in UMS:


Regular Admission


  1. Bachelor’s degree should be in the same field of the master’s program the student wished to follow.
  2. a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 out of 4.00, or its eqUMSvalent. the degree must be awarded from a university that is accredited by the ministry of higher education and research of the UAE or an internationally recognized institution.
  3. For masters programs which are in English:
    • 550 in paper Tofel, or 213 in computer test, or 79 for international Tofel, or 6.0 for Ielts.
    • UMS may accept any other standard test which is internationally approved and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in the UAE.

Conditional admission


UMS offers a conditional admission, whose CGBA is below 3.00 if he is committed to the following:
 
  1. Bachelor’s degree should be in the same field of the master’s program the student wished to follow.
  2. The student shall hold a bachelor’s degree from one of UAE universities or any other universities which are accredited and authenticated by the ministry of higher education and research in the UAE.
  3. For masters programs which are in English:
    • 550 in paper Tofel, or 213 in computer test, or 79 for international Tofel, or 6.0 for IELTS.
    • UMS may accept any other standard test which is internationally approved and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in the UAE.

 

Conditional admission for not fulfilling English proficiency reqUMSrement:


  1. Bachelor’s degree should be in the same field of the master’s program the student wished to follow.
  2. The student shall hold a bachelor’s degree from one of UAE universities or any other universities which are accredited and authenticated by the ministry of higher education and research in the UAE.
  3. Tofel score should be between 530 and 550 or its eqUMSvalent of the tests which are approved and depended by Ministry of higher education and research in the UAE.
 

Admission of “professional” applicants with waiver of the CGPA reqUMSrement:


  1. Bachelor’s degree should be held within four years as it should be in the same field of the master’s program the student wished to follow.
  2. Five years of graduation at least.
  3. The student shall hold a bachelor’s degree from one of UAE universities or any other universities which are accredited and authenticated by the ministry of higher education and research in the UAE.
  4. For master’s programs which are in English:
    • 550 in paper Tofel, or 213 in computer test, or 79 for international Tofel, or 6.0 for IELTS.
    • UMS may accept any other standard test which is internationally approved and accredited by the ministry of higher education and research in the UAE. 
 

Admission with exemption from English language proficiency:


  1. The applicant should have completed his undergraduate studies in English and in a university, whose study language is English.
  2. The applicant should be an English native speaker.
  3. The applicant should have been awarded his bachelor’s degree from a country, whose mother tongue is English.
  4. The applicant should have completed his English studies in an institute for teaching English, and he shall provide a document which certifies that he has passed Tofel with at least 500, or any other eqUMSvalent test.
  5. Concerning programs, which are taught in Arabic, English proficiency may be waived. 
 

Transfer students from accredited institutions:


Students who hold bachelor’s degrees from an accredited institution of higher education may transfer to study in UMS under the following conditions:

  1. The applicant should meet all UMS admission conditions.
  2. The applicant should have been in good academic status with cumulative (CGPA) of a least 3.0, out of 4.0 or its eqUMSvalent.
  3. The applicant should be fired out of his former university whatever the reason was.
  4. Only grades obtained from courses taken at UMS will be considered for calculation of the student’s GPA and CGPA. 
 
Notice:

  • Students, who would like to transfer courses from other universities, should provide the university with the original school record that is certified by the ministry of higher education and research in the UAE, in addition to an appendix containing a description of all courses the student would like to transfer (take into consideration terms and conditions).
  • The courses transfer request should be applied before courses registration date in the same term the student would like to be enrolled in.
